FAMILY SERVICES

A family focused, child centred model of in-home support, Family Services also provides an enhanced service for families with more complex needs. Support is provided over a longer period of time with a primary focus on the safety and wellbeing of children.

CHILDFIRST

Child First is a community based intake and referral service for families where there are concerns for the wellbeing of children. Child First is the pathway to Family Services and other relevant services, and operates in accordance with the Best Interest Planning principles of the Children, Youth and Families Act, 2005.

FOSTER CARE

Provides an alternative home based care option for children who are unable to stay with their own family. This service is available to families who might be experiencing difficulties, illness or in a crisis situation. Foster care may be required for short, medium or long term accommodation. Fully trained, accredited Foster Carers provide a safe nurturing home environment for children, within the child's own community.

CIRCLE PROGRAM

The circle program is a therapeutic home based care option for children unable to live at home. Specialists work as part of a care team to support the child using trauma informed practices.

FAMILY COUNSELLING

Provides counselling for members of families with children under 18 years old. This includes issues children experience when their parents separate, stress, grief and loss, relationship problems, self-esteem, depression and other mental health issues.

FAMILIES AND SCHOOLS TOGETHER - FAST

FAST enhances parenting skills and builds relationships within families, and between families, schools and the community.

RURAL COMMUNITY COUNSELLING

Assists farming and townspeople living in rural communities affected by the prolonged drought. Also includes anyone living in rural communities affected by the drought. The team is based in Horsham and provides outreach counselling in the West Wimmera, Hindmarsh, Yarriambiack and Buloke shires.
