To continue developing initiatives that will meet the needs of Wimmera families and communities as they arise, we established the Wimmera Community Fund in 2003. At the end of May 2009, the fund held $426,000 and we plan to raise this to a minimum of $2 million by 2010.

This capital account provides Wimmera UnitingCare with the flexibility to respond to local circumstances and to help with future capital works that will only improve our range of services and the way we provide them.

The Wimmera Community Fund in no way affects the funding we receive from governments, foundations and trusts.

Wimmera UnitingCare relies heavily on this funding, which mostly provides specifi c services.

Wimmera UnitingCare's board of governance approves all Wimmera Community Fund expenditure.

Donations are tax-deductible and can be made as a bequest or by individuals, companies, service clubs, church groups and others.
