In Horsham volunteers will be flipping pancakes for an important cause as they take part in UnitingCare Pancake Day on Tuesday, 16th February 2010. The Pancake morning tea will be held at St Andrew's Uniting Church at the corner of Pynsent St and Urquhart St, Horsham from 10.30a.m. to 12.30p.m.

Pancake Day is UnitingCare's annual fundraising event which encourages the local community to help local people while having a great day of fun.

This year it has rallied hundreds of groups across Victoria and Tasmaniato cook and sell pancakes at self-organised events throughout February.

"Pancake Day is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together for a fun day to enjoy a hot pancake and support UnitingCare. It's a brilliant cause and the money raised really does help people in need of support in our community", said UnitingCare Pancake Day Coordinator, Felicity Shangwa.

"For example just $5 can provide dinner for a person without a home and $50 can provide access to mediacl treatment for someone on a low income."

UnitingCare is Australia's leading community service provider and helps up to 500,000 people in Victoria and Tasmania.
