WUC chief disputes decline in demand

Wimmera UnitingCare chief executive Wendy Middleton has disputed figures which show demand for public housing has fallen in the Wimmera.

The state-wide public housing statistics, release on Monday, show public housing applicants in the Grampians region fell by 57, with a reduction of 45 applicants through the Ballarat orffice and 12 through the Horsham office.

But Ms Middleton said demand for housing was greater than ever.
